Like Father

Brian McKnight is one of my favorite singers.  I’ve been watching his new TV show, Brian McKnight Show.  Last week, his two sons were on the show.  I didn’t even know he had kids.  His two sons, Brian Jr. and Niko, 20 and 17, are apparently pretty talented, they perform with his father.  Well, I was very impressed, but it also made me very jealous.  Some people have natural talent they are born with, but to receive such elite education from one of the most skilled musician since birth.. that’s just not fair!  On the show they followed him traveling to his shows, and he performed a song unplugged with his sons.  I looked for the video on Youtube, but I couldn’t find it.  So instead, here’s a clip from some concert.  Apparently, they’ve been doing this for a while.  It may not look as impressive, but I’m still jealous!

My earliest musical talent did emerge at about age 3 or 4, I don’t remember exactly when.  But I do remember learning a song Twinkle Twinkle Little Star by ear, and playing it on my toy piano.  I knew nothing about music prior to that, so I guess I had a little speck of talent.  But then my parents were no Brian McKnight.

Anyway, talent sure runs in this family.
