Great night for LA Part 2 – American Idol

Second best part of the night, American Idol. I’ve been saying David Cook was the one to watch. I actually had to vote for him Tuesday night. I think his win was well deserved. A rocker has never won the show but I think Cook had enough pop appeal for the Idol. He’s cute, he’s always humble, talented, diverse, kept taking risks and pulled it all off. I hope he does well. Archuleta is very talented as well for sure, with amazing vocal. But he’s young, and – he’s got to do something with his eye brows. I think he’s perfect for Disney. He could do a good Disney musical.. hmm? but he can’t dance can he.

Lots of great performances in the finale. It was great to see Brian Adams, and Cook performing with ZZ Top was hot. George Michael (wow.. remember him?) was hot too, in that low key performance but emotional. And Carrie Underwood – I had to do a double take when she came out on stage. She seems more of a ballad singer but she can rock it out too. Loved her outfit. Yeah she’s got some legs..

So here’s the tribute clip I found on youtube. I wish the image quality was better but it’s a nice one. This song, Always Be My Baby, I didn’t appreciate it as much when he performed it on a Mariah night, but it sounds better on a studio version.
